Anna Torv

Anna Torv is an Australian actress born on June 15, 1979, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She is the great-niece of media mogul Rupert Murdoch. She studied at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and began her career in Australian television before moving to the United States.

Torv first gained international recognition as FBI agent Olivia Dunham in the science fiction series Fringe (2008-2013), created by J.J. Abrams. She later earned widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Tess Servopoulos, Joel's smuggling partner, in the HBO series The Last of Us (2023-present). Her nuanced, emotionally grounded performance in the show's pilot was praised as one of the series' highlights.

Beyond The Last of Us and Fringe, Torv appeared in the Australian film Stephanie (2018), the Netflix series Mindhunter (2017-2019) as Wendy Carr, and the HBO series The Last of Us. Her Mindhunter role as the pioneering criminal psychologist was particularly acclaimed and helped raise her international profile.
