Ayooluwa "Ayo" Edebiri is an American actress, comedian, and writer born on October 3, 1995, in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from New York University and began her career in comedy writing, working on shows like What We Do in the Shadows and Big Mouth (where she also took over the voice role of Missy).
Edebiri broke through as Sydney Adamu, the ambitious young chef who becomes Carmy's business partner, in the FX series The Bear (2022-present). Her dynamic performance captured Sydney's passion, talent, and determination, earning her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2024 and establishing her as one of the most exciting talents in Hollywood.
