Biography
Edward Parker Helms is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer born on January 24, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia. He studied film at Oberlin College and trained in improvisational comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. He first gained recognition as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (2002-2006).
Helms joined the cast of The Office in Season 3 as Andy Bernard, the singing, short-tempered Cornell graduate who eventually becomes regional manager of the Scranton branch. His committed, physical comedic performance became a standout of the series and earned him a devoted fan following. He appeared on the show from 2006 to 2013.
Beyond The Office, Helms is widely known for playing Stu Price in The Hangover trilogy (2009, 2011, 2013), one of the highest-grossing comedy franchises in history. He has also starred in films like Cedar Rapids (2011), We're the Millers (2013), and voiced the title character in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017).
