Jeremy Allen White is an American actor born on February 17, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York City. He trained at the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan and began his career with early television appearances and independent films.

White first gained recognition as Lip Gallagher in the Showtime series Shameless (2011-2021), playing the intellectually gifted but self-destructive eldest Gallagher son for all eleven seasons. He then achieved critical superstardom as Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, the brilliant but troubled fine-dining chef who returns to Chicago to run his family's sandwich shop, in the FX series The Bear (2022-present). The role earned him consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Golden Globe Awards.

White's intense, physically committed performance in The Bear has been widely praised as one of the most compelling portrayals of grief, perfectionism, and artistic drive on television.
