John Arthur Lithgow is an American actor born on October 19, 1945, in Rochester, New York. The son of a theatrical producer, he studied at Harvard and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He has had an extraordinary career spanning theater, film, and television.
Lithgow is a six-time Emmy winner with notable roles including Dick Solomon in 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996-2001) and Arthur Mitchell/The Trinity Killer in Dexter Season 4 (2009). His portrayal of Trinity earned him the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor and is widely regarded as one of the greatest villain performances in television history.
