Biography
Jonathan Stuart Bailey is an English actor born on April 25, 1988, in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England. He began acting as a child, appearing in the West End production of A Christmas Carol at age seven, and went on to study at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Bailey became an international star as Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, in the Netflix period drama Bridgerton (2020-present). His smoldering performance as the lead of Season 2, opposite Simone Ashley, made him one of the most sought-after romantic leads in television and earned widespread acclaim for his portrayal of duty, desire, and vulnerability.
Beyond Bridgerton, Bailey won an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in the West End revival of Company (2018). He appeared in the film Wicked (2024) as Fiyero alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, and has roles in Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) and the upcoming MCU. He is also a celebrated stage actor with extensive West End credits.
