Christopher Catesby Harington, known professionally as Kit Harington, is an English actor born on December 26, 1986, in Acton, London, England. He studied at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and made his professional acting debut in the National Theatre's production of War Horse in 2008.
Harington became a global star through his portrayal of Jon Snow in the HBO fantasy epic Game of Thrones (2011-2019). His brooding performance as the honorable bastard son of Ned Stark who rises to become King in the North earned him two Primetime Emmy nominations and made him one of the most recognized actors in the world.
Beyond Game of Thrones, Harington has appeared in films including Pompeii (2014) and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019, voice). He joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dane Whitman / Black Knight in Eternals (2021). Harington married Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie in 2018.
