Nicholas Offerman is an American actor, writer, and woodworker born on June 26, 1970, in Joliet, Illinois. He studied fine arts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and trained at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago before building his career in theater, film, and television.

Offerman is best known for his beloved portrayal of Ron Swanson, the libertarian, meat-loving parks director in the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation (2009-2015). He later delivered an Emmy-winning dramatic performance as Bill, a survivalist who finds unexpected love in a post-apocalyptic world, in the "Long Long Time" episode of HBO's The Last of Us (2023).
