Park Hae-soo is a South Korean actor born on November 21, 1981, in Seoul, South Korea. He studied theater at Chung-Ang University and built his career in Korean theater and television, gaining domestic recognition for his role in the hit K-drama Prison Playbook (2017-2018).
Park achieved global fame as Cho Sang-woo (Player 218), the financially disgraced former investment banker and childhood friend of Seong Gi-hun, in the Netflix series Squid Game (2021-present). His portrayal of the desperate, morally compromised Sang-woo earned widespread critical acclaim, with his character serving as a tragic counterpoint to the protagonist.
Beyond Squid Game, Park is known in Korea for his starring role in Prison Playbook (2017-2018), one of the highest-rated Korean dramas. He has also appeared in the Netflix series Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area (2022) as Berlin, and the film By Quantum Physics: A Nightlife Venture (2019).
