Jose Pedro Balmaceda Pascal is a Chilean-American actor born on April 2, 1975, in Santiago, Chile. His family fled the Pinochet regime and immigrated to the United States when he was an infant. He studied acting at the Orange County School of the Arts and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Pascal first gained widespread recognition as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones Season 4 (2014), but it was his dual leading roles as the Mandalorian in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian (2019-2023) and as Joel Miller in the HBO series The Last of Us (2023-present) that made him one of the biggest stars in the world.
