Rainn Dietrich Wilson is an American actor, writer, and producer born on January 20, 1966, in Seattle, Washington. He studied acting at the University of Washington and later at New York University's Graduate Acting Program. He worked extensively in theater before transitioning to television and film.

Wilson is best known for his scene-stealing performance as Dwight Schrute, the eccentric, beet-farming assistant (to the) regional manager in the NBC comedy The Office (2005-2013). His deadpan delivery and total commitment to the character's absurdity made Dwight one of the most beloved comedic characters in modern television, earning him three Primetime Emmy nominations.

Beyond The Office, Wilson has appeared in films including The Rocker (2008), Super (2010), and Monsters University (2013, voice).
