Sophie Belinda Turner is an English actress born on February 21, 1996, in Northampton, England. Like her co-star Maisie Williams, she had minimal acting experience before being cast in Game of Thrones at age thirteen.

Turner became internationally recognized for her role as Sansa Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones (2011-2019). Her portrayal of the Stark daughter who evolves from a naive girl into the shrewd Lady of Winterfell and eventually Queen in the North was praised for its depth and emotional range throughout the series.

Beyond Game of Thrones, Turner played Jean Grey / Phoenix in the X-Men films X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Dark Phoenix (2019). She also starred in the Quibi/Roku series Survive (2020) and the Starz limited series Joan (2024). Turner was previously married to musician Joe Jonas.
