Stellan John Skarsgård is a Swedish actor born on June 13, 1951, in Gothenburg, Sweden. He began acting at age 15 at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm and has since become one of Europe's most acclaimed actors.

Skarsgård has appeared in over 100 films including Good Will Hunting (1997), the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Thor (2011), Chernobyl (2019), and Dune (2021-2024). His portrayal of Luthen Rael in Andor (2022-present) is widely considered one of his finest performances, delivering what many regard as the greatest monologue in Star Wars history.
