Stephen Glenn Martin is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and musician born on August 14, 1945, in Waco, Texas. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour before becoming one of the biggest comedy stars in the world.

Martin's film career includes classics such as The Jerk (1979), Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987), Roxanne (1987), and Father of the Bride (1991). He co-created and stars in Only Murders in the Building (2021-present) as Charles-Haden Savage, a role that has earned him multiple Emmy nominations. He is also an accomplished banjo player, bestselling author, and art collector.
