Character Arc
Vuk Stanic is the long-serving superintendent of Block 27 whose sudden disappearance sets the entire story in motion. Outwardly he is the dependable fixer who knows every leaking pipe and every troubled tenant, the kind of man neighbors call before they call anyone official. That reputation, built over years of small kindnesses, conceals how much private information he has quietly collected about the people who live around him.
Through flashbacks and the recollections of other residents, Vuk emerges as a more complicated figure than his friendly image suggests. He has been a confidant, a lender, and at times a reluctant keeper of dangerous secrets, and those entanglements gradually reveal why several people in the block might prefer that he never return. His absence becomes a mirror in which each neighbor sees their own guilt reflected.
Vuk's arc anchors the first season's mystery, with his choices in the weeks before he vanished slowly coming into focus. Rather than a simple victim, he is shown as a man who tried to manage too many competing loyalties at once, and whose attempt to do the right thing may have been exactly what put him in danger.
