Methodology & Editorial Standards

How we research every profile and calculate the proprietary Fan Heat Index — documented openly, because a resource worth citing should show its work.

Overview

TVCeleb profiles 332 characters across 85 television series, each scored with our proprietary Fan Heat Index. This page documents exactly how those scores are defined and how our profiles are researched, sourced, and maintained. We publish this in full so that fans, writers, and journalists can understand — and cite — our work with confidence.

The Fan Heat Index, Explained

The Fan Heat Index (FHI) is a single 0–100 score capturing the vitality of a character's fandom. It is built from five weighted dimensions. A score above 90 marks the most intensely followed characters in television; 70–89 indicates a strong, healthy fandom; below 70 reflects a developing or niche following.

Engagement 25% weight

Active discussion volume across forums, subreddits, and community platforms — how much fans are talking about the character right now and over time.

Social Activity 25% weight

Breadth and frequency of character-related activity across social media: dedicated accounts, hashtags, edits, and recurring posting.

Meme Velocity 20% weight

How quickly and widely character moments, lines, and reactions spread as memes and short-form video — a measure of viral cultural reach.

Fan Art Density 15% weight

Volume and consistency of fan-created artwork, illustrations, and creative works dedicated to the character.

Fandom Longevity 15% weight

Sustained interest over time, beyond premiere hype — whether a fandom keeps producing and engaging years after a character first appeared.

Each dimension is scored 0–100, multiplied by its weight, and summed to produce the overall Fan Heat Index. The weights (Engagement 25%, Social Activity 25%, Meme Velocity 20%, Fan Art Density 15%, Fandom Longevity 15%) total 100% and are applied consistently across every character, making scores directly comparable across shows, genres, and decades.

Sources & Research Process

Factual content — character arcs, key episodes, casting, air dates, and actor biographies — is compiled from official network and studio materials and widely-trusted public references including Wikipedia and IMDb, then cross-checked for accuracy before publishing. Every actor profile links to its verified Wikipedia and IMDb pages.

Fan ecosystem links are curated to point only to active, public, welcoming communities — Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, fan wikis, and more — so readers can find the conversation, not just the facts.

Updates & Corrections

Television is a living medium. Profiles are reviewed and refreshed as shows release new seasons and as fandoms grow or shift, and each page displays its last-updated date. Fan Heat Index scores are periodically recalculated to reflect evolving engagement.
