Character Arc
Abdullah is the proud, traditional patriarch of the conservative family whose son marries into Kivilcim's household. Accustomed to being respected and obeyed at home, he embodies the old-fashioned values that collide head-on with the easygoing modern family. His authority is the source of much of the show's tension, as his expectations repeatedly run up against the independence of the younger generation.
Throughout the series Abdullah is challenged by children who quietly push back against his rules and by a daughter-in-law who refuses to shrink herself to fit his household. These confrontations expose both his rigidity and the wounded affection beneath it. The writing resists turning him into a villain, instead showing a man genuinely struggling to keep his family together on terms he understands.
As the seasons progress, Abdullah is forced into small but meaningful concessions, discovering that love sometimes means loosening his grip. His arc is one of gradual, reluctant softening, and viewers came to see him as a complicated figure whose pride masks a deep fear of losing the people he loves.
