Character Arc
This is the central dual role of A Time Called You. In the present day of 2023, the character is Han Jun-hee, a woman mourning the death of her boyfriend Koo Yeon-jun roughly a year earlier. After a mysterious event sends her consciousness back to 1998, she awakens inside the body of Kwon Min-ju, a shy high-school student, and must live as Min-ju while retaining Jun-hee's adult memories and grief. FLAG FOR FACT-CHECK: sources should confirm that Jeon Yeo-been performs both the present-day Han Jun-hee and the 1998 Kwon Min-ju as a single dual role.
As Jun-hee inhabits Min-ju's life, she grows close to Nam Si-heon, a classmate who looks remarkably like her late boyfriend, and to their friend Jung In-gyu. The tension between who Min-ju was and who Jun-hee is drives much of the drama: Jun-hee tries to protect the people around her and uncover the truth of 1998, while struggling with feelings that blur the line between mourning Yeon-jun and falling for Si-heon.
Her arc is ultimately about grief, identity, and fate. As the mystery of the timeline resolves, Jun-hee and Min-ju's intertwined stories force questions about whether the past can be changed and whether love is bound to particular people or destined to recur across time. The role is the emotional anchor of the series and the lens through which its puzzle-box structure is revealed.
