Character Arc
Hossam Fahmy is a long-settled resident of the building, a man whose composed, authoritative presence makes him a fixture in the neighborhood's daily life. On the surface he is the kind of figure others defer to, but Leil gradually suggests that his stability rests on arrangements and obligations he would rather keep hidden. His role embodies the series' interest in how respectability can mask private debt.
When the central event disrupts the building's fragile order, Hossam moves to contain the fallout, and his maneuvering becomes one of the season's main sources of tension. The narrative lets the audience question whether he is protector or manipulator, and his interactions with Nadia in particular keep his true motives in productive doubt. Each new perspective episode shades his actions differently.
By the finale, Hossam's carefully maintained image is tested against what the night has exposed. His arc resists a simple villain framing, instead presenting a man cornered by the consequences of choices made long before the story begins. The resolution leaves his standing in the community permanently altered.
