Character Arc
Barkha Bhatti is Brij's wife and the emotional anchor of his household, a woman whose steadiness gives the early part of the story its warmth. In the family's modest beginnings she shares in Brij's hopes and hardships, and her relationship with him provides the human foundation against which his ambitions are later measured. The series uses her presence to ground its period world in the texture of ordinary domestic life.
As Brij's enterprise expands, Barkha is increasingly caught between loyalty to her husband and unease at the changes overtaking him and their household. Her arc traces the quiet strain placed on a marriage when wealth and influence arrive faster than the people involved can absorb them, and she becomes a moral counterweight to Brij's growing appetite. Through her, the show examines the domestic cost of his rise without sensationalising it.
Across the season Barkha's resilience and her attempts to hold the family together give the drama much of its emotional weight. Sai Tamhankar plays her with a grounded intensity, lending the character a dignity that resists being overshadowed by the larger crime saga. Her perspective keeps the human stakes of the story in view as the world around the Bhatti family grows more precarious.
