Character Arc
Miyuki Shirogane is the diligent president of the Shuchiin Academy student council, holding the top academic rank in a school full of privileged elites. Unlike most of his classmates, he comes from a modest background and earned his position through relentless hard work rather than wealth or connections. His serious, no-nonsense demeanor hides a competitive streak that fuels his refusal to confess his feelings for Kaguya first.
As the series progresses, Miyuki's weaknesses and insecurities become a major source of both comedy and heart. He is hopeless at things like sports, technology, and singing, and he constantly worries about measuring up to the privileged world Kaguya was born into. His dedication to self-improvement, often through comically extreme effort, slowly earns him real confidence and the respect of those around him.
By the later seasons, Miyuki sheds much of his rigid pride and learns to be honest about what he wants. He balances the pressures of leadership, family responsibilities, and his future ambitions with his deepening bond with Kaguya. His willingness to finally act on his feelings, rather than scheme around them, drives some of the show's biggest emotional moments.
