Moff Gideon

Moff Gideon is the primary antagonist of The Mandalorian — a former officer of the Imperial Security Bureau who has retained power, resources, and ambition in the post-Empire galaxy. Wielding the Darksaber, which he took during the Great Purge of Mandalore, Gideon represents everything the Mandalorians have lost and everything they must overcome to reclaim their identity.

Giancarlo Esposito brings the same chilling composure to Moff Gideon that he brought to Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, creating a villain who is most terrifying when he is calm. Gideon rarely raises his voice; his menace comes from absolute certainty in his own superiority and a willingness to deploy overwhelming force without hesitation.
