Character Arc
Nagisa Shiota is the soft-spoken protagonist of Class 3-E, a slight, blue-haired student who is easy to overlook at first glance. He serves as the audience's window into the class, narrating its assassination attempts and carefully recording every detail about Koro-sensei in his notebook. Quiet and observant, he initially seems like one of the least likely members of the class to pose any threat.
Over time Nagisa discovers a startling natural talent for assassination, with a calm focus and an unnerving ability to read opponents that even professionals come to respect. His signature close-quarters technique and his knack for catching enemies off guard turn him into one of the class's most dangerous members. This growth forces him to wrestle with what his gift means and what kind of person he wants to become.
Beyond his combat aptitude, Nagisa's arc is about finding direction, self-acceptance, and the courage to stand up to expectations placed on him, including pressure from home. Guided by Koro-sensei's belief in him, he matures into a confident young man with a clear sense of purpose. By the end of the series he embodies the show's central message that every student has untapped potential waiting to be drawn out.
