Character Arc
Musashi Kurosawa is Haruta's blustery, middle-aged division chief, a man who runs the office with gruff authority until his heart entirely betrays his composure. Outwardly a stern, by-the-book manager, he becomes a quivering bundle of nerves the moment his secret affection for Haruta surfaces. His larger-than-life reactions, from dramatic sighs to theatrical declarations, supply much of the series' biggest laughs.
Kurosawa's confession upends the office dynamic and his own self-image, and the comedy mines the gap between his commanding work persona and his lovesick fluster. Yet the writing never mocks him; his sincerity is treated as genuine and even brave. He throws himself into courtship with the same single-minded intensity he brings to closing a deal, leading to grand gestures that are equal parts hilarious and surprisingly touching.
As the love triangle plays out, Kurosawa learns that affection cannot be managed like a sales target. His arc balances the broad farce of a man undone by feelings with moments of unexpected dignity and tenderness. By the end he emerges as one of the show's most beloved figures, a reminder that it is never too late, or too undignified, to be honest about love.
