Character Arc
Yoon Seo-ha begins the story as a composed, somewhat isolated university lecturer whose careful, private life is upended by news of an inheritance from an uncle she never knew existed. Reluctant and wary, she is pulled toward a remote village and an old family burial ground, and her instinct throughout is to keep her distance, finish the formalities, and return to the controlled world she has built for herself.
As bodies and questions accumulate around the inherited land, Seo-ha is forced to confront how little she actually knows about her own family. Her arc is one of unwilling excavation: each answer about the graves and the village exposes another silence her late mother maintained, and she must decide whether to keep running from her lineage or finally face what it asks of her.
By the series' end, Seo-ha has shifted from a passive heir to someone who understands the true cost of the legacy left to her. The character embodies the show's central question, whether grief and guilt can be inherited, and her quiet resolve in the face of mounting dread anchors the entire mystery.
