About Cattleya Killer
Cattleya Killer is a Filipino psychological crime thriller that picks up two decades after a string of notorious murders, when a new victim turns up bearing the same signature markings linked to the original case. The reappearance reopens old wounds and reignites a hunt that had long gone cold, drawing in investigators, family members, and figures from the past who were all touched by the earlier killings. The series frames the renewed inquiry as both a procedural pursuit and a study of how violence echoes across a single family over time.
At the center of the story are members of the dela Rosa family, including a senior law enforcement official, his agent son who works the case, and an elder brother whose work brings him close to vulnerable people. As the investigation advances, suspicion and buried secrets begin to surface, and the agent at the heart of the story finds himself drawn uncomfortably into the case. The drama builds its tension from psychology, family loyalty, and moral pressure rather than spectacle, treating the mystery as a slow unraveling of identity and inheritance.
Directed by Dan Villegas and written by Dodo Dayao, Cattleya Killer premiered on June 1, 2023, as a six-episode series streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Produced under ABS-CBN Studios and its partners, it draws on an ensemble of established Filipino screen talent and was promoted as part of the wave of Philippine originals reaching international streaming audiences. The title nods to a classic strand of Filipino crime storytelling, and the show was noted among Philippine productions presented to global markets ahead of its release.
