About Hormones: The Series
Hormones: The Series is a Thai teen drama produced by the film studio GTH together with Nadao Bangkok and directed by Songyos Sugmakanan. Set in and around a fictional Bangkok high school, the show follows a group of classmates as they navigate friendship, first love, family pressure, and the everyday confusion of growing up. Rather than centering on a single hero, it spreads its attention across an ensemble of students, giving each one a distinct storyline that unfolds over the course of a school year.
The series was notable in Thai television for treating teenage life with unusual frankness, exploring subjects such as dating, identity, peer pressure, academic stress, and the gap between parents and their children. Storylines were handled as realistic slices of adolescence, with characters making mistakes, facing consequences, and slowly figuring out who they want to be. This grounded, character-driven approach helped the show connect strongly with young viewers across the region.
Premiering in 2013, Hormones ran for three seasons through 2015, with later seasons rotating in new students and following members of the original group as they matured. It became one of the most talked-about Thai teen dramas of its time, launched the careers of several young actors, and built a large online following thanks to its streaming availability and its willingness to portray the messier sides of growing up.
