About Kohrra

In the fog-laced fields of rural Punjab, the body of a young NRI groom is discovered just days before his lavish wedding, and the discovery cracks open a town that would rather keep its secrets buried. Two tired, flawed police investigators are handed the case, and what begins as a routine murder probe slowly becomes an excavation of an entire community.

As the investigation widens, every thread the detectives pull loosens another knot of family shame, forbidden desire and quiet violence. The dead man was not who his relatives pretended he was, and the people grieving loudest often have the most to hide. Kohrra moves at a deliberate, mournful pace, less interested in the whodunit than in the wounds the question exposes.

The series doubles as a study of the men chasing the truth, both of whom carry their own fractured homes and buried regrets into the work. Layered, melancholic and unflinching about caste, class and queerness in small-town India, it earned wide critical praise as one of the finest Indian thrillers of its era. It stars Suvinder Vicky, Barun Sobti and Harleen Sethi.
