About Nightsleeper
Nightsleeper unfolds across one long, fraught night as the Caledonian sleeper train rolls from London Euston toward Glasgow. What begins as a routine overnight journey turns sinister when the train is seized remotely by unseen hackers, leaving the passengers locked inside a hurtling metal box with no obvious way to stop it. The premise is pure white-knuckle real-time thriller, and the tension ratchets up with every passing mile.
On board sits an off-duty police officer who never expected to be on the clock, and miles away a sharp cyber-security analyst at a government agency clocks the intrusion and realizes the danger before anyone else does. The two strangers, connected only by a phone line and a shared sense of dread, must work together to outthink whoever is pulling the strings. As trust frays among the passengers and the authorities scramble, the question becomes whether anyone can be believed at all.
Created by Nick Leather, the series leans hard into modern anxieties about technology, infrastructure, and how quickly ordinary life can be hijacked. It pairs intimate character work with the relentless momentum of a ticking clock, building toward a finale that keeps its cards close. The drama is anchored by a magnetic central pairing in Joe Cole and Alexandra Roach.
