About Oktoberfest: Beer and Blood
Set in Munich at the turn of the 20th century, Oktoberfest: Beer and Blood follows Curt Prank, a hard-driving brewer from Nuremberg who arrives in the Bavarian capital with a single consuming ambition: to build an enormous beer hall that will dominate the city's celebrated Oktoberfest. An outsider with a guarded past, Prank quickly learns that the festival grounds are controlled by long-established Munich brewing families who have no intention of making room for a Franconian newcomer.
As Prank maneuvers to secure land and licenses, he collides with the proud Hoflinger family, whose matriarch Maria helps hold their traditional brewery together through hard times. The conflict deepens when Prank's spirited daughter Clara falls for Roman Hoflinger, the heir to the rival brewery, entangling the two households in a web of romance, rivalry, and divided loyalties that neither family can easily escape.
Lavish and unabashedly soapy, the six-part German period drama stages its turn-of-the-century world with sweeping festival tents, smoky brewing halls, and the social tensions of a rapidly modernizing Munich. Across its single season the series weaves the ruthless pursuit of a brewing empire together with intimate family drama, charting how ambition, secrets, and desire reshape the lives of everyone drawn into Prank's grand design.
