About Orphan Black

Orphan Black opens on Sarah Manning, a streetwise British grifter who watches a stranger who looks exactly like her step in front of an oncoming train. Sarah assumes the dead woman's identity to drain her bank account, only to discover she has stumbled into a sprawling conspiracy. The woman was one of many genetically identical clones, and Sarah is one too.

As Sarah is pulled deeper, she meets her 'sestras' — a tightly wound suburban mother, a brilliant PhD scientist, a feral assassin raised by a cult, and others — all played by Tatiana Maslany. Together they uncover the Dyad Institute and the Neolution movement, shadowy forces that created the clones as patented experiments and now monitor, manipulate, and hunt them.

Across five seasons the clone club fights to protect Sarah's daughter Kira, expose the people who own their genome, and seize control of their own bodies and futures. Blending taut thriller plotting with sharp questions about identity, bioethics, and chosen family, the series builds to a reckoning with the men who treated human lives as intellectual property.
