About Sintonia
Sintonia is a Brazilian Netflix drama created by funk-music mogul KondZilla, alongside Guilherme Quintella and Felipe Braga, that follows three childhood friends growing up in the same Sao Paulo favela. Set against a vibrant, music-soaked backdrop, the series tracks how their tight bond is tested as each of them reaches for a very different dream, and how the neighborhood that raised them keeps pulling their stories back together.
Doni dreams of breaking through as a funk artist, chasing studio time, stage moments, and the slippery promise of musical fame. Rita finds direction and community through an evangelical church, where faith offers both refuge and a difficult set of choices. Nando, meanwhile, is drawn into the harder realities of the streets, a strand the show treats in grounded, non-graphic terms as it explores ambition, loyalty, and the cost of survival.
Across its seasons the show widens into a textured portrait of life in the periphery, balancing the euphoria of the funk scene with quieter questions about faith, family, and what it means to make it out. As the three friends grow up, the central tension is whether their friendship can hold once their paths point in such different directions. KondZilla draws on his own roots in the funk world to give the music sequences and the community detail a lived-in authenticity.
