Character Arc
Nana is the heart of Baby Fever: a talented Copenhagen fertility doctor who is confident and capable in the clinic but increasingly uncertain about her own personal life. Surrounded daily by hopeful parents-to-be, she feels the quiet weight of her own ticking biological clock, and that tension sets the stage for the impulsive decision that drives the series. Her choice to inseminate herself with her ex-boyfriend's sperm is played not as villainy but as a very human moment of longing and poor judgment.
Across the season Nana has to live a double life, hiding her pregnancy from colleagues while sorting out her complicated feelings for Mathias, the unwitting biological father. The show uses her predicament to explore guilt, honesty, and the messy gap between what she wants and what she has talked herself into. Her friendships, especially with Simone, become a lifeline as the secret grows harder to contain.
By turns funny and tender, Nana's arc is about owning her decisions and figuring out what kind of family and future she actually wants. Rather than tidy resolutions, the series follows her stumbling toward greater honesty with the people around her, and the continuation of her story in a second season keeps that emotional reckoning going.
