Character Arc
Han Yu-ri is the idealistic rookie attorney whose arrival sets Good Partner in motion. Earnest and principled, she enters the divorce division convinced that the law should serve the people caught inside each case, and she struggles when cold strategy seems to win out over fairness. Her open-heartedness makes her relatable but also leaves her vulnerable to the harder realities of family-law practice.
Paired with the exacting Cha Eun-kyung, Yu-ri spends much of the series learning where conviction ends and competence begins. She pushes back against her mentor's detachment while slowly absorbing the discipline and rigor she initially resisted, and the friction between the two women becomes a mutual education. Her growth is measured less by courtroom victories than by a maturing sense of how to help clients without losing herself.
As the cases pile up and her own life is shaken by change, Yu-ri is forced to reconcile her ideals with the messiness of real relationships. The series treats her journey as a coming-of-age within a demanding profession, asking whether she can hold onto her empathy while developing the backbone the work requires, and whether she and Eun-kyung can become true partners rather than just colleagues.
