About Good Partner
Good Partner is a 2024 South Korean legal drama that aired on SBS, set inside the divorce and family-law division of a major Seoul law firm. The series centers on Cha Eun-kyung, a celebrated and famously no-nonsense divorce attorney whose precision in the courtroom is matched by a coolness that keeps colleagues and clients at arm's length, and Han Yu-ri, an idealistic rookie lawyer who believes in the people behind every case. When the two are paired together, their clashing instincts about what the law is for become the engine of the show.
Each stretch of episodes builds around the messy, often painful divorce cases the pair takes on, from contested custody and hidden assets to betrayals that blur the line between client and adversary. The cases are rarely tidy, and the drama is careful to show how legal strategy collides with raw emotion, forcing both attorneys to weigh winning against doing right by the families in front of them. As the mentor-and-rookie dynamic deepens, Yu-ri pushes Eun-kyung to soften and Eun-kyung pushes Yu-ri to toughen.
Beneath the casework, Good Partner turns its lens on the lawyers' own lives, where the upheavals they counsel others through begin to surface at home. The series treats marriage, separation, and family with a measured, grounded tone, avoiding melodrama in favor of character study and the quiet question of whether two very different people can become genuine partners. Anchored by Jang Na-ra and Nam Ji-hyun, it reads as both a workplace procedural and an intimate look at trust, loyalty, and starting over.
