About Vincenzo

Vincenzo Cassano is a Korean-born orphan raised in Italy, where he climbed the ranks of a Mafia family to become a feared consigliere with a lawyer's mind and a gangster's instincts. When a power struggle within the syndicate forces him to flee, he returns to Seoul chasing a fortune in gold hidden beneath a shabby plaza he secretly owns. What he expects to be a quick, cold-blooded retrieval becomes something far messier.

The plaza, it turns out, sits atop the schemes of the Babel Group, a pharmaceutical conglomerate that crushes anyone in its path with bribed prosecutors, bought judges, and hired muscle. To dig out his gold, Vincenzo must first dismantle an empire of corruption, and he does it the only way he knows how: with elegant menace, theatrical cruelty, and a flair for turning the law against the lawless. Along the way the tenants of the rundown building become an unlikely found family.

Pairing slick mob thriller with broad, bloody comedy, the series asks whether a villain can become a hero without surrendering his villainy, and it answers with style to spare. The result is a genre-bending revenge fantasy anchored by Song Joong-ki as the impeccably tailored antihero and Jeon Yeo-been as the firecracker lawyer who matches him scheme for scheme.
