About The Divorce Insurance
The Divorce Insurance (Korean title Ihon Boheom) is a 2025 South Korean romantic comedy that follows Noh Ki-jun, a sharp and highly credentialed actuary working on an insurance company's product-development team. Having been married and divorced three times himself, Ki-jun reasons that in an age of soaring divorce rates a marriage ending should be treated like any other unexpected life disaster, and he sets out to design a novel divorce insurance product. The premise lets the series mine modern marriage for both comedy and genuine reflection.
To bring the idea to market, Ki-jun teams with Kang Han-deul, a perceptive underwriter who rebuilt her life and career after her own divorce. Their professional partnership, sharpened by colleagues such as the cautious risk surveyor An Jeong-man and the numbers-driven financial mathematician Jeon Na-rae, gradually shifts from wary collaboration toward romance. The workplace setting gives the show a grown-up, talky energy as the team debates what marriage is worth and how to price the risk of it falling apart.
Across twelve episodes the series balances office satire, case-of-the-week clients weighing the new policy, and a slow-burn central relationship. Airing on tvN and streaming via TVING in South Korea and Amazon Prime Video in select regions, the show was created by writer Lee Tae-yoon and directed by Lee Won-suk and Choi Bo-kyung. It positions itself as a witty, character-driven romantic comedy that uses the insurance business as an unusual lens on commitment, regret, and second chances.
