Character Arc
Guel Jeturk begins the series as the proud, hot-headed top duelist of Asticassia and the eldest son of Vim Jeturk, head of the Jeturk Heavy Machinery company. Arrogant and used to getting his way, he is initially Suletta's chief rival, humiliated when she defeats him and upends his expectation that he would marry Miorine. His early swagger and entitlement make him an easy figure to dislike, the classic cocky rival of a school-set mecha drama.
What sets Guel apart is how thoroughly the series dismantles and rebuilds him. A string of defeats, family pressure, and devastating personal tragedy strip away his pride and force him to reckon with who he is beyond his name and his skill in the cockpit. His relationship with his demanding father, and the consequences that follow, become some of the most emotionally charged material in the show.
Over the course of the series Guel undergoes one of its most striking redemption arcs, evolving from a spoiled antagonist into a humbled, more compassionate young man burdened by loss and responsibility. Fans came to regard his journey as a standout example of an anime rival earning genuine growth, and his hardships made him one of the most sympathetic and discussed members of the cast.
