Character Arc
Suletta Mercury is the earnest, socially awkward protagonist who transfers to Asticassia School of Technology from the remote planet Mercury. Raised in relative isolation and guided by a mantra from her mother that taking a step forward earns you one or two more, she begins the series as a timid outsider unfamiliar with the academy's cutthroat dueling culture. Her piloting talent in the Gundam Aerial, however, quickly sets her apart and thrusts her into the school's social and political spotlight.
After an accidental duel win leaves her engaged to Miorine Rembran, Suletta gradually steps out of her shell, forming friendships, founding a company with Miorine, and gaining confidence as both a pilot and a person. Her unwavering kindness and loyalty make her beloved by those around her, even as the audience senses that her cheerful determination has been shaped by a sheltered and carefully controlled upbringing.
As the series darkens, Suletta's arc becomes a wrenching exploration of devotion, identity, and the truth about her mother Prospera's plans. She is forced to confront painful revelations about who she is and what she has been used for, ultimately choosing to define herself by her own bonds and ideals rather than the role written for her.
