Character Arc
Han Jeong-u is Geu-roo's father and the founder of the Move to Heaven trauma-cleaning service. A gentle, patient man, he built the business on a philosophy of treating the belongings of the dead with dignity and of seeing each cleaning as a way to deliver a person's final messages to those they left behind. He is the one who taught Geu-roo the work and the values behind it, raising his son with steady love and a deep belief in his abilities.
Jeong-u's presence shapes the entire series even after the story moves past him early on. The lessons he instilled, the routines he established, and the careful way he prepared his son for the world remain at the center of everything Geu-roo does, and his arrangements set the plot in motion by bringing his estranged brother into Geu-roo's life. Through flashbacks and through the imprint he left on his son, his character continues to guide the tone of compassion that defines the show.
Though his time on screen is limited, Han Jeong-u functions as the moral foundation of Move to Heaven. His vision of the trauma-cleaning profession as an act of care and remembrance becomes the standard that both Geu-roo and, eventually, Sang-gu live up to. The warmth and intention with which he raised Geu-roo echo through every case, making him a quietly enduring presence across the season.
