Character Arc
Oh Gwan is the sharp, hot-blooded nephew drawn into his uncle's treasure scheme, a young man with quick instincts and far more ambition than caution. He starts out eager to prove himself and to escape the limits of his circumstances, treating the sunken fortune as a doorway to a bigger life. His energy and impatience make him both an asset to the operation and a source of risk as the stakes rise.
Over the course of the season Oh Gwan is forced to grow up fast. Watching the violence and betrayal that swirl around the treasure, he begins to question the cost of the path his uncle has set him on, and the bond between the two men becomes one of the show's central relationships. His arc traces the painful education of a young man learning what greed does to the people who give in to it.
By the finale Oh Gwan has been hardened and changed by everything the hunt has thrown at him, caught between loyalty to his uncle and his own emerging sense of right and wrong. His evolution from impulsive newcomer to someone who understands the true price of the prize gives the series much of its emotional momentum.
