Character Arc
Oh Hoi is a veteran con man whose easy charm hides a lifetime of small schemes that never quite paid off. When rumors of sunken treasure sweep the coast, he sees the chance to finally land the score that will rewrite his fortunes, and he throws himself into organizing a diving operation with the conviction of a man who has run out of other options. His arc is driven by the gap between the grand future he imagines and the grubby reality of the deals he has to make to get there.
As the hunt intensifies, Oh Hoi must balance his own ambition against the safety of the crew he has pulled into the venture, including his nephew. His instinct to manipulate everyone around him repeatedly collides with moments where loyalty and conscience pull him in a different direction, and the series uses him to ask whether a habitual schemer can ever choose the people around him over the prize.
By the later episodes the treasure has cost far more than Oh Hoi bargained for, and his cleverness is tested against forces more ruthless than any mark he has worked before. His journey becomes the emotional spine of the show, a portrait of a charismatic survivor forced to reckon with what his lifelong pursuit of easy money has actually bought him.
