His blend of cunning, vanity, and unexpected tenderness made him the breakout character of the series.
Across the long run of the show, Izet's schemes drive countless episodes, whether he is chasing money, dodging responsibility, or interfering in the younger men's romances. His relationship with son Faruk swings between exasperation and grudging affection, while his bond with grandson Damir often reveals a softer, more sentimental side beneath the bluster.
