Character Arc
At night, the curse lifts and Lee Mi-jin returns to her real late-thirties self, a quick-witted and headstrong woman who has spent years chasing a stable career without success. Free of the older body she wears by day, the nighttime Mi-jin pursues her own goals and relationships, all while shouldering the secret that her daytime self leads an entirely separate life at the same workplace. Jung Eun-ji plays her as energetic and stubborn, the emotional engine of the show.
Much of the nighttime arc concerns the logistics and toll of living two lives. She must coordinate with her daytime persona, cover for gaps in each identity, and guard the truth from the people closest to her, including those she grows to care about. The constant balancing act sharpens her resourcefulness even as it tests her patience and her sense of who she really is.
As the central mystery of the curse develops, the nighttime Mi-jin is the one who actively investigates its origin and searches for a way to break it. Her determination to reclaim a single, whole life ties the comedy to a genuine emotional stakes, and her growing bond with Gye Ji-woong becomes one of the threads that pushes her toward resolution by the finale.
