Character Arc
Tally Craven is an open-hearted idealist who volunteers for military service against the wishes of her mother, who tried to shield her from conscription. She arrives at Fort Salem eager to do good and genuinely believing in the witch army's mission to protect the country. Her warmth and optimism make her the emotional glue of her unit alongside Raelle and Abigail.
As the series progresses, Tally's idealism is tested by the harsh truths of war and the moral compromises demanded of soldiers. Her latent abilities as a seer come to the forefront, and she is drawn into the secretive world of the Biddies and the military's leadership. Embracing her gift comes at a steep personal price, aging her and binding her to powerful figures within the army.
In the later seasons Tally grapples with the consequences of her sacrifices while continuing to fight for what she believes is right. Her connection to visions and prophecy makes her vital to understanding the threats facing witches, even as it isolates her. Her journey is one of an idealist who pays dearly for her devotion yet never loses her fundamental decency.
