Character Arc
Chandan is the eldest of the three siblings and, in many ways, the emotional anchor of Tripling. As the series opens he is at a low point, with a writing career that has not taken off and a marriage that is falling apart. Weary and a little defeated, he is the sibling most reluctant to rock the boat, which makes his decision to embark on the road trip a meaningful first step out of his own inertia.
Over the course of the journey, Chandan slowly sheds some of his resignation as he reconnects with his sister Chanchal and his younger brother Chitvan. The trip forces him to confront the disappointments he has been avoiding, including the state of his marriage, and to rediscover the protective, steadying role he plays within the family. His dry humor and exasperation with his siblings' antics give the show much of its comic warmth.
Across the later seasons, Chandan continues to wrestle with questions of love, ambition, and belonging, while remaining the sibling the others instinctively turn to. His arc is one of gradual reawakening, moving from a man stuck in place toward someone willing to take chances again, both in his personal life and in his relationships with his brother and sister.
