About Bad Buddy
Bad Buddy is a Thai boys love series produced by GMMTV that aired on GMM25 and YouTube from December 2021 into February 2022. It follows Pat and Pran, two young men raised next door to each other whose families have been locked in a bitter rivalry for as long as they can remember. Pushed to compete in everything from grades to sports since childhood, the pair grow up as designated enemies even though much of their hostility was inherited rather than chosen.
When the two end up at the same university in rival engineering and architecture faculties, their forced competition throws them together again and the old antagonism slowly gives way to understanding and then attraction. The series tracks how they hide a growing relationship from feuding parents and watchful friends, turning the secrecy itself into a source of both tension and tenderness. A parallel storyline follows their younger sisters and friends, widening the show into an ensemble campus story.
Directed by Noppharnach Chaiwimol, Bad Buddy was praised for treating its central romance with unusual naturalism and for letting the leads drive the emotional logic of the plot rather than relying on melodrama. It became one of the most acclaimed Thai BL titles of its era, building a large international fanbase and helping cement leads Ohm Pawat and Nanon Korapat as a popular on-screen pairing.
