About Division Palermo
Division Palermo (Division Palermo) is an Argentine comedy series created by, directed by and starring Santiago Korovsky, which premiered on Netflix on February 17, 2023. Set in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, it follows Felipe Rozenfeld, nicknamed Felpa, an insecure and aimless young man with a disability who, almost by accident, ends up leading a volunteer civil guard. The patrol is made up of people the city tends to overlook, including disabled, elderly and immigrant volunteers, assembled less to fight crime than to repair the battered public image of the security forces.
What begins as an absurd publicity stunt soon turns serious. As Felpa and his ragtag squad patrol the streets, bond over their shared status as outsiders and try to prove they belong, they stumble into a genuine conspiracy that puts them in real danger. The show balances broad, warm-hearted humor with a sharp satirical edge, using its comedy to poke at policing, bureaucracy, media spin and the everyday discrimination its characters face.
A standout feature of Division Palermo is its inclusive ensemble, which casts performers with real disabilities and from marginalized groups, weaving their perspectives into the heart of the story rather than treating them as a footnote. Praised for being boundary-pushing yet genuinely warm, the series became a breakout Argentine hit for Netflix and helped establish Korovsky as a distinctive comic voice. The cast includes Daniel Hendler, Pilar Gamboa, Martin Garabal and Charo Lopez alongside Korovsky.
