About Hellbound

In a near-present Seoul, supernatural beings begin appearing without warning to pronounce the exact day and hour of a person's death, then return to drag the condemned screaming into a fiery damnation witnessed by horrified crowds. Nobody can explain why the decrees fall on the people they do, and that uncertainty becomes the most terrifying thing of all.

Into this vacuum steps the New Truth Society, a fast-growing religious movement that reframes the killings as divine justice and the doomed as sinners getting their due. As fanatics and vigilante mobs enforce the new gospel, a handful of skeptics fight to expose the movement and protect the innocent from a world that has decided guilt is self-evident.

Across two seasons the series widens from a single detective's investigation into a sprawling meditation on faith, fear, and crowd cruelty, refusing easy comfort at every turn. Adapted from Yeon Sang-ho's own webtoon, it stars Yoo Ah-in as the chillingly serene prophet Jung Jin-soo and Kim Hyun-joo as defiant attorney Min Hye-jin.
