About Nine Puzzles
Nine Puzzles is a South Korean crime thriller released on Disney+ in 2025, following a brilliant criminal profiler who has spent her life under the shadow of a single unsolved case. As a teenager, Yoon Yi-na discovered the body of her murdered uncle alongside a cryptic puzzle piece left at the scene. A decade later she has become a respected profiler, but the killer who upended her childhood resurfaces, leaving identical puzzle pieces at a string of new murders that seem designed to draw her back in.
Partnered with veteran detective Han Saem, Yi-na is forced to revisit the trauma that defined her while racing to decode the meaning behind each puzzle piece. The investigation is complicated by the fact that Yi-na herself was once a prime suspect in her uncle's death, and the reopened case threatens to expose secrets that several people would kill to keep buried. As the body count rises, the line between hunter and hunted blurs, and Yi-na must confront the possibility that the answer has been hidden in her own memory all along.
Blending psychological character study with a tightly plotted serial-murder mystery, the series unspools its central enigma piece by piece across its episodes. Each new puzzle fragment reframes what came before, building toward a revelation about why Yi-na was chosen and what the killer truly wants from her. The show pairs a tense cat-and-mouse structure with an emotional through-line about grief, guilt, and the cost of seeking the truth.
